More Pink Elephants:
Not So Grim
Adventures
Fractured fairy tales are great, but
there's also something to be said for telling the story straight, but with
attitude or from a villainous point of view. This project includes several
original story songs: "A Wolf and Three Little Pigs," "Little Red Riding Hood,"
"Rumpelstiltskin," "Jack and the Beanstalk," "Three Billy Goats Gruff," and
"Cinderella" as well as three additional songs and ten poems and riddles written
specifically for the project.

Here are a few Storysong
Stories. I had written the chorus of "Little Red Riding Hood" a year
earlier but wasn't sure it worked and so didn't finish it for almost a year.
I started singing "Three Billy Goats Gruff" while strolling down Belmont
Avenue after meeting a friend at Bongo Jave coffee shop and seeing one of my
idols there, Mary Chapin Carpenter. I wrote "Rumpelstiltskin" in the winter
and didn't play anything else for a month except in concert. I wrote
"Cinderella" by request from a special friend and fan, Abbie Barryann, in Iowa.
