      Early Childhood Teaching and Performing Experiences From June, 1991 to June, 1994 Mary was the director and lead teacher for Kare For Kids, a licensed family day care facility sponsored by The Salvation Army of Middle Tennessee and The Junior League of Nashville.
Mary was later a teaching artist in Head Start classrooms through the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts and the Nashville Institute for the Arts.
She has given workshops on music, poetry and emergent literacy at state and local NAEYC conferences, as well as other local early childhood education programs in Nashville, Lexington, and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mary was the keynote speaker for the family childcare luncheon at the TN State NAEYC conference in 2001.
Mary has led poetry and PR workshops, been the conference entertainment, and been a panel presenter for conferences in The Southern Breeze Region and the Mid-South regions of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
Mary worked with children and families as the music director of the YMCA of Greater Boston's Sandy Island Family Camp on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hamphsire for three years.
Mary has performed in hundreds of schools, libraries, children's museums, festivals and other special events in over twenty states and two foreign countries for children, families and adult audiences.
