    What a pet! Pet Show!
You’re a lucky duck as if ya didn’t know.
You’re the cat’s meow for a moment or two,
A real hot dog - here’s lookin’ at you!

    What a pet! Pet Show!
If everybody’s ready then we’re ready to go.
    Everyone’s a winner. Every pet’s a star
In the greatest Pet Show on Earth by far!

    That's My Cat

It's morning and I wake in bed with kitty sitting on my head
On my head, on my head. Kitty's sitting on my head.
I say "No! Down you go!"

So he jumps to the ground on his little cat feet
Sits right down on his little cat seat
Says "I've been good, now where's my treat?"
    That's my cat!

    We're sharing playdough, making shapes
And kitty's climbing up the drapes.
Up the drapes, up the drapes
    Kitty's climbing up the drapes.
I say "No! Down you go!"

So he jumps to the ground on his little cat feet
Sits right down on his little cat seat
Says "I've been good, now where's my treat?"
    That's my cat!

I grab a glass to get a drink and kitty's sleeping in the sink.
In the sink, in the sink.
    Kitty's sleeping in the sink
I say "No! Down you go!"

So he jumps to the ground on his little cat feet
Sits right down on his little cat seat
Says "I've been good, now where's my treat?"
    That's my cat!

It's night, we're reading PETER PAN
And kitty's dangling from the ceiling fan.
The ceiling fan, the ceiling fan.
Kitty's dangling from the ceiling fan.
I say "No! Down you go!"

So he jumps to the ground on his little cat feet
Sits right down on his little cat seat
Says "I've been good, now where's my treat?"
    That's my cat!

    Read To Your Dog

    Read to your dog.
    Read to your cat.
Read to your guinea pigs, too,
    And surely they'll ne-fur fur-get
    You are fur-ever true.

    Read in the sun.
    Read in the shade.
    Read when it's raining, too,
    And ev-furry day
    Fur sure it will say
    "I love you!"
    And ev-furry day
    Fur sure it will say
    "I love you!"

    Teddy's Bear

Maybe you've heard of Teddy's Bear.
Maybe you've got one, too, somewhere,
    But Teddy's bearcub was alive
And he had not one bear, but five.

Oh, Teddy Roosevelt can you tell me how it felt
To share the White House with two rats
Snakes and birds, dogs and cats?

Did you let your zebra play
In your house on Oyster Bay
And did your lion eat with you
    In your illustrious dining room?

Oh, Teddy Roosevelt can you tell me how it felt
To share the White House with two rats
    Guinea pigs, dogs and cats?

And let's not forget the lizard, the hyena and coyote,
    The flying squirrel, the rabbit
    And the Icelandic pony.
Almost 40 pets, a private petting zoo.
Almost 40 pets, and six kids, too.

Maybe you've heard of Teddy's Bear.
Maybe you've got one, too, somewhere,
    But Teddy's bearcub was alive
And he had not one bear, but five.

Oh, Teddy Roosevelt can you tell me how it felt
To share the White House with two rats
    Horses, badgers, dogs and cats?

    Pet Store

Something's squawking here at the pet store
    Something's squawking, saying "Hello!"
Something's squawking. We're at the pet store.
Something's squawking, a mock talk show.
Further down, turn around, look what I found.

Something's slithering here at the pet store
    Something's slithering, shiny with scales.
Something's slithering. We're at the pet store.
    Something's slithering. It's on sale.
Further down, turn around, look what I found.

Something's swimming here at the pet store
Something's swimming, the color of sun.
Something's swimming. We're at the pet store.
Something's swimming, big as my thumb.
Further down, turn around, look what I found.

Something's hobbing here at the pet store
Something's bopping with a wiggly nose.
Something's hopping. We're at the pet store.
    Something's hopping on my toes.
Further down, turn around, look what I found.

Something's running here in the back seat.
Something's running, round on a wheel.
Something's running. We're in the back seat.
    Something's running, ours for real.
Thanks a lot! Who'da thought? Look what we got!

    Toad And Turtle

Dad stops the car on a rainy night.
    Oh, what could it be?
He says, "I see something in my headlights."
    Oh, what does he see?
It's only a toad, hop, hopping down the road
So he picks it up and we bring it home with us.

Mom stops the car on a sunny day.
    Oh, what could it be?
She says, "Something's crawling right in our way."
    Oh, what does she see?
A box turtle's creeping across the street,
But she picks it up and we bring it home with us.

Now our little toad's somewhere in the house
And someday we may find him,
But our box turtle escaped from the yard
And left the sandbox far behind him.

Dad stops the car as the sun goes down.
    Oh, what can it be?
He says, "I see something moving around."
    Oh, what does he see?
A great horned owl seems hurt somehow
So he picks it up and we bring it home with us.

    Now she's at Walden's Puddle
    Rehabilitation Center
    With other wildlife like her
    Where she'll spend the winter.

Mom stops the car in the falling snow....

    You Gotta Pet Your Pet

You gotta pet your pet, not forget your pet.
You gotta rub her fur and tickle her belly,
Give her a bath when she gets smelly,
Oh, you know, you gotta pet your pet.

You gotta pet your pet, not forget your pet.
You gotta throw him a bone, a ball or a stick,
And give him treats when he does a trick.
Oh, you know, you gotta pet your pet.

Just like you baby the baby
Just like you prize the prize,
    You gotta treasure every treasure
    No matter where it lies.

You gotta pet your pet, not forget your pet.
You've gotta bring her toys and sing her songs,
    Let her know she belongs.
Oh, you know, you gotta pet your pet.

    Extraordinary

Leana Beasley fell down sick one day while home alone,
And her dog faith called 911 and barked into the phone.
When the EMTs arrived she raced across the floor,
And seeing them in uniform, faith unlocked the door.
And it's all true, what I sing to you.

She is not your ordinary, everyday dog.
She is an extraordinary, save-the-day dog.

When nine-year-old Louis Camuti lay asleep in bed
Their cat flopped on his pillow, and brushed her tail across his head.
Louis finally woke to smoke and fire blazing 'round,
And quickly woke his family and they got out safe and sound.
And it's all true, what I sing to you.

She is not your ordinary, everyday cat.
She is an extraordinary, save-the-day cat.

Tim Nadine pursued a suspect through the woods one night,
And found him just ten feet away, holding a shotgun tight.
His dog, Reno, charged and took six bullets, saving Tim,
But healed up fine and now he's on the job with him again.
And it's all true, what I sing to you.

He is not your ordinary, everyday dog.
He is an extraordinary, save-the-day dog.

    They Get Around

Vegetables and minerals don't go, even slow,
But animals do, animals do, animals do,
    Like me and you.

They get around, round and around.
They hop, they drop, they creep, they leap, yeah.

They get around, round and around.
They hop, they drop, they creep, they leap,
They fly, they climb, they cling, they swing, yeah.

They get around, round and around.
The hop, they drop, they creep, they leap,
They fly, they climb, they cling, they swing,
They dash, they splash, they dip, they flip, yeah.
They get around, round and around, round and around and around.

    Animal Planet

He's got his favorite programs on TV
And watches them intently from the couch.
We don't disturb him, we just let him be.
'Cause he might growl at us and be a grouch.

He's not so big on working 'round the house,
Though he might bring the morning paper in.
And often he's got something in his mouth,
And drool is somethimes dripping down his chin.

He's not into MTV, news or sports or history.
He likes the creeping, crawling crocks,
The bats and rats and cats and hawks.
Though we don't know what began it,
He's hooked like a fish on Animal Planet.

Although he goes out every dog-gone day,
And likes to nose around the park with friends,
He doesn't whine, he doesn't beg to stay.
He's happy to be on the couch again.

He's not into MTV, news or sports or history.
He likes the creeping, crawling crocks,
The bats and rats and cats and hawks.
Though we don't know what began it,
He's hooked like a fish on Animal Planet.

    Song For St. Francis

Come little kittens, come bigger cats,
Come birds and fish as well.
May safety and peace and health increase
    Wherever you may dwell.
May love be yours warm as the sun,
And friendship strong as the moon,
And may joy abound wherever you're found
    Forever returning to you.

Come little puppies, come bigger dogs,
Come frogs and turtles as well,
May safety and peace and health increase
    Wherever you may dwell.
May love be yours warm as the sun,
And friendship strong as the moon,
And may joy abound wherever you're found
    Forever returning to you.
